Stacey Reding

Trail Blazers vs Pistons at the Moda Center on January 2nd, 2022. Jaden Coleman / Rose Quarter

Tonight’s Hometown Hero is Stacey Reding, a Portland public defender. Stacey joined her office Multnomah Defenders 15 years ago today and has been working hard to represent her indigent clients ever since. Stacey and her colleagues stand up for the marginalized and provide zealous representation that is essential in our criminal justice system. Stacey carries a caseload while supporting and mentoring the newer attorneys she supervises as they learn and grow. Some of Stacey’s amazing accomplishments are being on the Board of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association in 2018 and serving as President later on in 2021. Stacey has also represented thousands of indigent clients and completed more than 100 jury trials.‍

Stacey has volunteered her time with several local mock trial programs, and in her spare time, she enjoys climbing mountains with the Mazamas, gardening, and backpacking with her dog Jim. She’s joined tonight by her colleague and friend Alex Cambier.
